The Library participates actively in cooperative programs with other libraries on local, state, and regional levels so that patrons can access and use an even wider range of resources. Dr. Coleman, the library director represents the library on the Metroversity, FOKAL, ATLA and Team-A consortia.
Kentuckiana Metroversity - Locally, the Kentuckiana Metroversity consortium gives LPTS students and faculty privileges to borrow from more than four million volumes, housed in libraries in the Louisville area. These include: Bellarmine University, Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, University of Louisville, Jefferson Community and Technical Colleges, Louisville Free Public Library, Spalding University, Indiana University Southeast at New Albany, Ivy Technical College and of course, LPTS.
Louisville Seminary students, faculty, and staff may use the reference services and borrow books from any of these libraries by showing their LPTS card. However, COVID19 has complicated matters. LPTS students, faculty, staff still have reciprocal borrowing privileges but the Courier Service is on hold. This means that if a library in the consortium is OPEN to patrons beyond their institutions, LPTS patrons may be able to visit the library and borrow items directly using their current LPTS ID card. Please make sure your LPTS ID is current. If you need it validated, please drop by when the building is open or email library@lpts.edu to make an appointment. If you do not have a current LPTS ID, email Jean Herp, Communications Specialist at jherp@lpts.edu and then bring it to the library for validation.
