Dear LPTS Community,
We are excited to share the news that despite being short-staffed the library team has started to prepare for contact-less book borrowing. Watch video or read on 😊.
Sharing the good news of E.M. White Library and With Much Love, Digital Library, at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary with 24/7 remote access to ebooks, ereserves, research databases, and online InfoLit learning. The building is open for limited hours and only to LPTS students and employees for borrowing of print books, laptops, self-scanning, and quiet study in carrels, and reference room. Ask-A-Librarian is available digitally and in-building. Read the blog for the latest news.
Dear LPTS Community,
We are excited to share the news that despite being short-staffed the library team has started to prepare for contact-less book borrowing. Watch video or read on 😊.
I’m also happy to share exciting changes we’ve made to improve your library experiences.
Dear LPTS community,
EBSCO Customer Service has informed us that they are experiencing slow responses and timeouts. This means that none of our EBSCOHost databases – e.g. ATLA Religion, Academic Search, Family and Society Studies, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences, etc. plus ebook Collection, ebook Academic Collection, ebook Religion Collection - are accessible in any way. No on campus access, no remote access, not via the workaround sent earlier. EBSCO engineering teams are currently investigating the issue.
Non EBSCO databases you can still access are Digital Library of Classic Protestant Texts, Ministry Matters, Oxford Biblical Studies Online and there’s more. Just ask a librarian – library@lpts.edu.
I’ll keep you updated about EBSCO access. Thanks.
Sincerely,
Anita
Dear LPTS community,
Thanks to Jill Sherman, I am delighted to share that remote access to the library’s databases, ebook collections, and resources is back. She has faithfully worked and pored over the logs and patron files to find and correct errors in years-old manual entries of user barcodes and passwords, literally one by one. She’s already been reaching out to those when these corrections are made. 😊
Good morning LPTS community.
Thank you for your prayers. All of us in the library have had negative test results. Our remote access, using your barcode and password, is still down – and we will keep you updated. Please use the workaround. Until we let you know otherwise.
Hello friends,
Here’s more good news today. I believe God works all things together for good. Even the last bit of news at the end. 😊
On Tuesday, 09/07, we welcomed Jill Sherman as Technical Services Librarian 09/07 and made this quick ~1 min video: https://youtu.be/BH6N7JMjn6s
Library staff continue to try to reach out to OCLC our remote access EZProxy hosted product provider on restoring remote access to the library’s electronic resources.
In the meantime, please refer to your email for a workaround to remote access.
Hello students and colleagues,
I am delighted to share that starting this Thursday, Sept. 10, the library Windows laptops and MacBooks will be available for borrowing on a first come first served basis. Laptops and MacBooks may be borrowed for the entire semester with the understanding that they are subject to recall with a week’s notice should another patron need them. The library only has a small number available.
Please email your request to reserve a laptop or MacBook to library@lpts.edu. Ms. Bobi Bilz will set up an appointment time during normal Seminary working hours for contactless pick up
Questions? Please let me know. Thank you.
