Jill comes to us from Sullivan University where she was Assoc. Professor, Data Analytics and Technical Services Librarian. She is a seasoned and versatile professional having been Head Librarian, College of Technology and Design at Sullivan, Acquisitions and Cataloging, Learning Resources Commons at JCTC, Reference Librarian and Head of Technical Services at University of Louisville, Kornhauser Health Sciences Library. She has served as President of the Board of Trustees of the First Unitarian Church of Louisville and was a member of their new Ministerial Hiring Committee in 2018. Jill has a Master’s degree in Library Science from the University of Kentucky, Lexington and a Bachelor’s degree from Columbus College of Art and Design, Columbus, Ohio. Jill and her husband came to Louisville in 1998. Jill took a break from U of L to become a mom and they now have a young daughter. Jill is a member of the Ohio Valley Group of Technical Services Librarians and Kentucky Library Association. We are blessed to have Jill and I am excited by the gifts she brings us.
Jill is working with OCLC to resolve the loss of the EzProxy hosted remote access service. It appears to have been caused by the file upload of new student authorizations last week. Somehow, all the data disappeared. This is why none of us can get access. OCLC has just informed Jill that they’re way-overloaded and it may take until next week to get to us. Thus, in the meantime, please use the workaround for remote access sent earlier.
Finally, I want to be transparent in truth and love and that’s why I share this news about COVID19 testing and library staff. None of us have any COVID19 symptoms. Dean Gray’s news yesterday though alerted us that we may have been exposed. To be totally safe, we agreed voluntarily, and got tested. Starting today, we are working from home until the test results are in. We hope to be able to fulfill requests for student laptops received next week. Preparations we’d begun for contactless book borrowing are of necessity on hold.
